I'm receiving the following error when I am trying to upgrade from Gold R8 to most recent Able Commerce v9

Any ideas?

undefined:retail.error.500
undefined:retail.error.server_error
undefined:retail.error.we_are_sorry_but_the_page_you_are_trying_to_access_has_experienced_an_error

undefined:retail.error.please_contact info@drumcityguitarland.com undefined:retail.error.to_report_this_problem

undefined:retail.error.go_back_to_home_page

All I have done is copy the V9 install files to a home directory in IIS, point to the Gold R8 DB and boom. Get that error. Day 2 going on 3 days now.

Please help!

Hi,

I am assuming that you followed the steps given on this link for the upgrade process from Gold R8 to Ablecommerce 9.0.4.
http://help.ablecommerce...de_to_AbleCommerce_9.htm

Can you please share the error details by turning off the custom errors.

Please open /web.config file and search for

Code:
<customErrors mode="On"

and replace with

Code:
<customErrors mode="Off"

Thank you for your reply!

Yes, I did follow all of those steps to the best of my knowledge.

Ok, after turning off customErrors, here is the error message that is displaying:

Server Error in '/' Application.
Invalid column name 'CatalogUrlId'.

It seems that the database doesn't have expected column. Can you please confirm that you went through entire process of upgrading from ac7? If yes then was there any errors reported during upgrade?

Apparently I am missing a step. How exactly do I go about upgrading the Gold R8 database?

I figured it out! No need for any further action. The problem I was having is that I was manually entering information to point to the database in the database.config file instead of leaving it blank. Everything is good now! I've got the database upgraded and am now commencing on the re-skinning! Thanks so much!
