By default, the store configuration has a clear location for inserting the Google Analytics ID, but it's not clear to me where the best place is to insert code for GTM.

Is there a best practice for this according to the devs at AC?

Hi Steve,

Just put your Google ID into the following page:

Dashboard > Configure Store > Page Tracking

The google widget is already included in the footer boards.

I'd suggest the following Chrome add-on called Tag Assistant (by Google), to check your tags.
