Assign a widget board to a page template in the Design tab of the page template
Go to Widget Boards page
Edit that widget board
Change the name and save it

Now return to the page template you edited in step 1. The widget board specified in the Design tab still shows the old widget board name.

I have found that on the retail side the updated name is used whereas on the admin side we are still using the old name.
I am registering this issue. Thanks for pointing this out.
