The IconUrl parameter doesn't seem to be used anywhere that I can find.

This was an initial feature part where we were displaying an icon with the Widget name when listing widgets on retail and admin for drag and drop. Later we updated the UI and removed the widget icon. So the property remains there in code.

Thanks for pointing this out!

I like the idea, too bad it got removed.

I was going to ask about adding some sort of preview or thumbnail image feature to associate with a widget. My thinking is it would make it easier to visually represent the purpose of the widget as the admin sorts through the widget list.

But some widgets have no UI (ex page tracking), so a thumbnail offers no advantage.

But, it would work AMAZING for UI-based based widgets like Category Display Page, Header widgets, search widgets etc. Imagine the user being able to actually SEE what a specific page widget will look like before adding it to a layout.
