So, what's the story with the PayPal Express Checkout button? There's an inner template for it. But, there is no widget available in the widget list. I see _MiniBasket.cshtml references it: Code:@Html.Action("PaypalExpressCheckoutButton", "PayPalExpress")
But, I can't use that same reference in my own view because the controller 'PayPalExpress' doesn't exist. How do I add the PayPal Express button to my own custom basket page? |

The controller is present in the PayPal plugin. You must ensure that the plugin is installed before using this code.
Please also consider the if block around this piece of code in _MiniBasket.cshtml

Hope this will resolve the issue.

Ok I understand how it works in _MiniBasket. My local installed-plugins xml got reset again somehow, so my install didn't know PayPal gateway was installed. If I add the PayPal Express Checkout inner template to the right sidebar of the basket page layout, it throws some sort of weird error on the shopper side: Capture.JPG (51kb) downloaded 0 time(s). |

There are two widgets that will appear if the plugin is installed. 1- Paypal Express Checkout Button &
 2- Paypal Express Checkout

On the basket page sidebar your need to drag and drop the 1st widget.
2nd widget is for the redirect page that is already created at the time of the plugin installation.
It will appear in case of an error from the Paypal site.

Hope this clears the confusion about the widget.

Ohhhhhhhhh. Yea that would do it!
I had the wrong widget on the page. Now it's rendering as expected. The widget names make it a little confusing. Had I actually read the descriptions on the widgets, I probably would have noticed.

 Thanks!
