Our company uses a tremendous amount of order statuses, as an example a "Canceled Order" can have three different flavors, each one representing why the order was canceled. Example: - Canceled
Canceled - Fraud Canceled - New Order
We do this for reporting purposes to help us analyze certain matrixes, so we can make better decisions to help our customers and increase sales. Using the three cancel orders listed above as an example, I can only apply one order canceled trigger to just one of the orders above. Is this by design? Is there not a reason why multiple statuses cannot share triggers? Edited by user Friday, July 2, 2021 9:55:20 PM(UTC)

Trigger represents an event related to an order. An order can only have one status assigned based on the event fired. This is not possible to assign multiple statuses to a single order on one trigger.

Yes I understand the logic behind this, especially at the very beginning and at the very end. The system would not know how to proceed unless you are able to modify the flow itself.
I am assuming though, that an order status can send an email without a trigger? Is this a correct statement?
Thanks

Email will be send on event trigger.
Actually, the order status is changed and email is sent when an event is fired.
