In AC Gold, on the shipments tab, the tracking number was clickable and let you to a page where you could go to the shipping provider and see the status of the shipment.

This only worked (in Gold) if the tracking number record in the table had a ship gateway assigned to it. If the tracking number is posted without picking a specific ship gateway, the link would not render.

Check the ac_TrackingNumbers table and see if that tracking number has a ship gateway assigned to it.

Hi Judy,

The tracking number click to view status does work in AC9 for orders that are first created in AC9 and managed from start to finish in AC9.

If you are working with orders that were migrated from a previous version into AC9 you probably had to redefine the shipping gateway and re-load the shipping methods. In this case, the shipping methods from old orders are not properly matched up to the shipping methods you've reconstructed in AC9. When you enter the tracking number for these orders, the clickable link to the carrier doesn't work.

There is a work-around; for old orders, you can use the "Change Method" button on the shipping tab to re-specify the shipping method from the reconstructed list. Then when assigning the tracking number, the clickable link will work.

Hope this helps... also see Joe's earlier thread here:
