I am in the process of doing a tremendous amount of data entry. In order to keep track of the items that I'm working on, I import these items in a specific temporary category. Once I finish doing what I need to do with the products, they are moved to their proper categories. At this point, I no longer have access to the group of products that I just worked on.
There are many circumstances, where I'm may need to be re-edit these products again, modify the products and even delete the products, but because they are now mixed in to their proper categories I have no way to single them out.
It would be nice if the products and even the category themselves had a tag feature, just a place to put some text for the purpose of searching these products if I need to. In other words if I'm working on 50 products, I could tag these products in the tag field as "100220-cp200". I can then do a search, and even though these products are now mixed in with other products, I could do a search on the tag field, and have a way to recoup these products, so I can manipulate them again if needed.
Maybe that particular night, I didn't have my cup of coffee, and I really messed up and I need to re-edit these products. It happens to all of us.
Another way this could be helpful is to have the ability to single out certain products based on the input provided. An example would be, there are certain products that at the end of the month I need to provide a report to Motorola regarding the sale products. This small feature could have tremendous benefits for whatever reason one can think of.
Please note that this is not the same as the product template, the user will never see the contents of this field, it is strictly for admin purposes only.
This of course could apply to categories as well.
Just a small feature, should be easy to implement, but for those that do a lot of data entry, would make life so much easier.
Many thanks,
-Ray
