Recently, a couple of states passed laws that prevent us from shipping a handful of products to their states.

Is there a way to exclude certain products from delivery in certain states easily?

You can select a specific Ship Group for a product. A Ship group will provide a shipping method and a shipping method can be assigned to zones containing only the allowed states.

You can create a zone with the states that allow shipping to certain products and then assign that zone to a Shipping Method.

Steps:

1- Create a new zone and exclude the states that don't allow shipping for certain products. Admin - Configure - Region - Zones.
2- Create a new shipping method or use an existing shipping method that could only be used for those specific products. Assign the special zone to this shipping method.
3- Create a new Ship Group and assign the shipping method to be used for those products.
4- Assign the new Ship group to those products.

Please note that if you have a shipping method that is assigned to All ship groups, it will appear in the shipping methods list for selection. So please make sure to review the existing configurations.
