It would be nice to have an area where you can drag and drop documents for storage. In this particular case, I have to save a bill of Lading, so the customer doesn't have to pay sales tax. We created a directory called order-assets where I can manually copy files. All files start with the ticket number followed by a dash and a short description.
At the order level, you'll have the flexibility to rename the file as you see fit, or the system can automatically apply the order number to the front of the file, given that you're at the order level at this point.
The easiest implementation would be just an area that you can go to and drag and drop things. You're responsible for naming the file. This is a place where you can store tax certificates, email messages, or any other day-to-day activity that might be necessary in the future.
Thanks -Ray

Hi Ray,
I don't know if this is what you're looking for, or if you can make it work.
Under Catalog > Images, there is a page named Images and Files. Click the button in the upper-right corner and there is a second option to Upload File. As long as the security configuration allows the file type, you can drag and drop documents into a location within the Assets folder.
It's not as sophisticated as what you probably need, but it does have the drag and drop functionality. |
Thanks for your support!

That would require giving my users, access to this part of the system, which I preferred not to for obvious reasons. Right now I’m doing it manually in the event. Something happens down the road I have a place to go to and search for information. I just underwent a sales tax audit, and it’s just nice to have information in one place. I do appreciate the feedback.

By 'users', do you mean your employees or customers? |

Employees, right now they’re very limited as to what they can do. Thanks. By the way, this would be a great enhancement under the note section of an order to have a upload file feature. Edited by user Tuesday, August 27, 2024 11:56:35 AM(UTC)

Yes! This would be a really nice feature and fit well with the Order Notes. I'll submit it for a future version. |
