This error just appeared today when clicking the basket link.
Customers are getting a 404.
Admins can see the error: The controller for path '/checkout/basket' could not be found.
Any idea what could be going on or where to look?
No files have been changed.
Thanks

Have you asked the client if they've made any changes in the CMS? Maybe added something to the basket page that's conflicting with the code.
If you can login to the admin, you can see the last modified date of the "Basket" inner template.
Also check the Website > Customized Pages > Content Pages list and see if there are any changes that took place recently. |
Thanks for your support!

I'm just curious if you have a resolution to this problem.
One thing you can try in the future when this problem is fixed is to make a carbon copy of the directory structure under inetpub, using a different name. In other words, if the website is located at website.com, Create a copy of it under the same inetpub directory and call it something like website-02.com.
By doing this, both directory structures would be linked to the same database, allowing for a seamless transition between the two.
If, for some reason, the first directory structure becomes unstable—there are just too many reasons to discuss—you can always point the IIS server to the Backup directory. Refresh the system, Recycle the app pool, and you're set to go.
Obviously, if you update the first directory structure, ensure everything is working, and then a few days later, update the second directory structure. Not only do I do this, but I also have previous versions just in case something happens to a newer version. They all point to the same database, but only one is active at any given time.
Of course, this will only work if you can access the server.
I hope you find the problem, and please report back; I am extremely curious.
