Hi there -
We have Braintree payment gateway configured and working well with credit cards and Apple Pay. Unfortunately, we can't get Google Pay to work at all - the payment modal opens but says 'This merchant is not enabled for Google Pay.' Here are things that we've tested/confirmed:
1) The merchant ID is correct 2) Our domain specified in Google Pay account matches our production URL 3) Google Pay is configured and approved by Google to accept payments 4) Submitted support ticket to Google who confirmed the payment profile is correct and should work as intended 5) Tested Google Pay via sandbox Braintree gateway which works. I noticed that even without a merchant ID, it works so I think the sandbox ignores that setting. 6) Confirmed that Google Pay is enabled in Braintree account.
Has anyone else successfully implemented Google Pay via Braintree? Are we missing any steps here?

Hi, I wasn't involved in the final testing of this particular payment method, but I did find some information regarding the error message. https://developers.googl...ploy/request-prod-accessCan you read this and make sure your account is setup for production access? If it is, then enable debug logging for the payment gateway and post the results here. Make sure to hide any sensitive or personal information. |

I enabled debugging in the Braintree gateway, however, no errors get logged in either the Braintree.log or app.log file when this payment type fails. The area where we see the merchant ID error is in the pop-up window provided by Google. Has your team had a chance to test this again to see if it's working in the AC environment?

Hi Greg,
I am able to successfully test the Braintree Google Pay in a sandbox environment. The error seems to point out that the merchant Id is not enabled with google pay. You may need to contact google to ask about this specific issue.

When using the Sandbox mode, the payment window operates properly. As soon as we go to production mode, it fails even though Google has reviewed our payments account and confirmed setup is valid. Do you have a production account to test with?

Sorry Greg, we do not have a production account.
Just to confirm, you are coordinating with google specifically for Google Pay requests coming from an integration.
This is for sure that the error message is coming from Google. If the issue is other than the account validity then they should be giving the relevant error message. If they could share any further details on why the payments are failing, then we can try to debug more from our end.
