In Gold, there was a tab for gift certificates on the view order page where the admin could take some action on the gift certificate, like activate if needed. You could also see the gift certificate number, according to a client who just upgraded to 9.0.6

He is right about missing the gift certificates tab on the view order page. I just confirmed this is a missing feature in AC9. I have registered a bug report to fix this in a future version. Thanks for reporting!
