Good Morning,
www.macoy.com is our site. What trigger do I use to send an automatic email when someone leaves something in the shopping cart? I see the email but not a trigger.

There is no event trigger for abandon baskets alert. There is a report to see all the abandoned baskets under
Dashboard > Reports > Customers > Abandoned Baskets
with a button to trigger email.

The template selection can be found under Configure -> Email section.

Is there any chance of adding this in the future?

Our SEO guy is also pushing for this so we can automatically encourage customers to finish checkout, possibly with a coupon.
Manually sending them each day is tedious.

We purchased a plugin for AC Gold, but was hoping v9 would have automatic abandoned cart emails built in.

There is a good news for you, the next release of AC9 have this feature and a lot of other new automation possibilities. We have a Zapier integration with a lot of new exciting features and new events and triggers.
