If we have a product with variants and the price for one of the variants is set lower than the default product price, the product purchase page shows "Save: $X.xx (YY%)" when that variant is highlighted. This is different than prior versions of AC. For example, override the variant price for the Red - Spikey Massage Ball to $2.00 each.

I believe this is undesired behaviour in most cases because some variants are purposely a different price which is not necessarily considered a "Saving...". For example we sell various sizes (gallon, quart, pint) of products. If I have the product standard price set for gallons, but someone highlights a quart size variant it shows "Save: ..." when it is not really applicable. It is just the lower price for the size selected.

Showing the Savings for discounts related to volume quantities (like buy 5 for 10% off) is proper, but I don't believe it should be shown this way related to variants.

Is this something that we can have changed?

Thanks!

-Jeff

Hello Jeff,

I have been trying to see this message, but it's just not showing up for me. So I checked BuyProductDialog and I'm not seeing anything there either.

Are you using build 5588?

Thanks
Katie

Hi Katie,

Yes, it is build 5588.

It occurs in the sample installation as well as our test deployment. When one of the variants has a price that is lower than the standard product price, the "Save..." message will display.

If the variants are higher or equal priced to the standard product price, no message is displayed.

Hi,

I've opened an issue report and asked one of the developers to look at this.

Thanks for letting us know.
