I have tested this on a 9.0.8 and 9.0.9 site. I do not have a 9.0.10 site to test on.
When a gift certificate is validated, the Gift Certificate Email Validated is not sent, even though the trigger is Pending gift certificate validated.
I have tested by:
Purchasing gift certificate and activating it from view order in admin.
Navigating to gift certificate itself under manage gift certificates( Admin/Payments/GiftCertificates) and clicking to Deactivate then Generate for Serial Number.

Hi Judy,

I confirmed this is a bug. I'll get it reported tomorrow.

In the meantime, an easy solution would be for the order admin to manually send the gift certificate email when the payment is processed.

I'll post a fix here when it's passed QA.

Actually, it is working. I was putting together a bug report for the dev team and my second test worked.

I checked JIRA for any recent fix, and there is nothing logged.

So, I'm scratching my head a bit now. Not sure why, but I definitely have an email in my inbox "Gift Certificate Validated for Order.."

Thanks, I finally got an email, but only when the payment was received. I had expected to receive one when the gift certificate was activated in the admin, either on the order or under manage gift certificates.
