Able Team,
When we migrated from AC Gold12 Version to AC9 the migration included the FedEx shipping option. However, we do not have have or use FedEx as a shipping option. Although under the shipments tab for all order's in the drop down box for adding tracking numbers it is there as an option.
For the first time we have run into a situation where a drop shipment was completed and a fedex tracking number was entered under the option in the shipments tab. It now has a 500 error and I can see in the error log it is screaming about no able fedex plugin can be found.
Before I go and start messing direct with tables in the DB, can I get the Plugin and try installing it to see if the 500 error can be fixed? If so how do i get the plugin. If anyone has had this happen to them can you please share your thoughts.
As a note all other tabs on the order are working fine accept the shipment tab and we are using the latest version of AC9.
Thanks again for any advice Ricky

If you had Fedex on your old site, we have had to manually delete the old Fedex entry from the shipping gateways table to get past errors we have seen in the error log- something like "unable to create an instance..". I can't tell from your post whether you have Fedex installed or not since you say the upgrade "included the Fedex shipping option." Does that mean the shipping methods are there but the new plugin isn't? I think you can delete the shipping methods via the admin, but not the old Fedex gateway entry. We have had to manually delete the old Fedex gateway entry even if we are installing the AC9 Fedex plugin. Edited by user Wednesday, October 11, 2023 7:11:00 AM(UTC)

Judy thank you for your input. We had FedEx in our Gold12 platformed but quit using it. So I know it was there when we migrated over. Quote:I can't tell from your post whether you have Fedex installed or not since you say the upgrade "included the Fedex shipping option." Does that mean the shipping methods are there but the new plugin isn't? No there is no Fedex setup in ship methods or the Fedex plugin on admin side. However, there is the Able plugin in the Ship Gateway table which allows the shipping option to be available in the drop down menu in the customers orders, but if you use it it will break the ship button and tab on that order as it cannot find the plugin causing the exceptions to be thrown. So I don't know if it was migrated over into the Ship Gateway table or if it is a standard include in a fresh install without the plugin. Able team should be able to answer this! I was able to find the plugin for a AC9 install that was provided to us from Ablecommerce sometime back at version AC9.3 or 4. I have tested with it and it works after installing it and then removing the Able plugin that I found as you suggested in the Ship Methods table. The Ship Methods now has just the Fedex Commercebuilder version. Once again thank you for your help. Ricky

When you upgraded, the entry was always in the Ship gateway table, so Judy's solution is correct, and it looks like you found a good work-around as well. |
