Hi, every so often we have a paypal payment that "doesn't work", for lack of a better way of describing it.

The most recent one has a transaction history in AC that says result PENDING and Notes "Waiting for IPN PENDING" and we did not receive the transaction in paypal.

We had issues in AC gold as well where payments sometimes just wouldn't work.

I'd like to get to the bottom of this so that we don't have to review paypal transactions all the time.

EDIT: We have PayPal set to Authorize & Capture. I just turned on Debug so that I have something to look at next time.

What you might need to do is contact the customer. Ask them if they had any trouble logging into their PayPal account to complete the transaction.

Waiting for IPN PENDING generally means the customer never completed the payment via PayPal.

The most common cause is the customer choosing PayPal during checkout, going to the PayPal website but then failing to complete the PayPal portion of the payment process for whatever reason.

In rare cases, the IPN from PayPal fails to connect to the Able site and you'll see this as well. But in my experience those situations are few and far between.\
