What is the secret to getting afid=xx to register? I've set up two affiliates, one via the admin and one via the self-sign up and tried ?afid=xx in several urls and affiliate doesn't register for the user and sales don't register. We're quoting a project for client who requires affiliates.
Thanks

Hi Judy,

Are you using the latest version? We did make some changes, but they would have been part of the 9.0.0 final version

Thanks

Thanks for testing. I must be doing something wrong. It is build 5588. I set up two affiliates in the admin, then opened the site as another customer and used http://localhost/Able9B5588Test2/Pet/Dogs?afid=1 in the url and placed an order, then marked it paid. The user's account shows No Affiliate in the dropdown on the user page in the admin and sales are not registered.

Hi Judy,

I've confirmed that this should be fixed in build 5588. I'm going to test it again. Can you let me know the settings for the affiliate?

For my reference, this is under issue AC9-1009

Thanks
Katie

I have the affiliate set as persistent. I did more testing and happened to go to the site the first time with afid=1 in the url and it picked it up. But if I went to the site for the first time, then didn't put the afid in until the second page, it didn't pick it up. So it looks like it picks it up if it is the absolute first visit, first page.

Great. I'm glad you have it working.

Affiliates can be tricky to test.

Thanks for the update,
Katie

I don't really think it is working as it should be. If a customer has been browsing a site and then finds an affiliate link, he can't place orders to benefit an affiliate. It seems like persistent should be that once a customer has an afid, it shouldn't change. But I just checked an R9 site and it acted the same,so I guess it isn't a bug.
