One of our sites just reported this.
If you search for some users by username via the box on the dashboard, selecting Users, some users return two results, but the link points to the same user id.
If you search for the same username in manage users, it only returns one result. I checked in the database and there is only one user.
Does the header search possibly look at the number of user groups user is in?

I have confirmed from the code the query in this case is not looking for user groups.

Can you please confirm which search provider are you using? SQL or FTS (admin - store - configure)

Sorry, But I am unable to reproduce the issue in 904. I have also reviewed the code but couldn't find any hint.

It would be helpful, if you could share more details to reproduce the issue.
