Using the final release, we decided to do a little bit of cleanup from the default with sample data. We removed all the default categories, but to our amazement, it also removed every single product attached to those categories. This is extremely dangerous, and I do not believe that this is the desire affect of removing just a category.

Your thoughts?

Hello,

Just tested this it won't delete the products so long as they are attached to a 2nd category. I'll get a bug posted to improve the pop up, to better indicate what's happening!

Are you sure you want to delete 'Category' and 22 products?

Mike, thank you for your reply but you may want to reconsider this.

Deleting a category should be just that, deleting a category. I have never in all my years of dealing with shopping carts ever dealt with products being deleted by the removal of a or any category.

Categories will change over time and may no longer be needed, and if one has hundreds of items, which have been optimize, with full descriptions, pictures and history of orders attached to them, they should never be so easily deleted by the click of a button. A mistake, an angry employee, or anything else should never have this much power to delete so much information so quickly.

Again let me emphasize, the only shopping cart I've ever encountered that shows this behavior. This is not normal.

In your past versions of AbleCommerce, is this the intended behavior?
