Am I missing something, or perhaps this was already reported?

In a demo store with no featured products set, the category display page sort order of the products doesn't match how the products are ordered in the admin catalog.

Based on what I see in the controller, it should be sorting by OrderBy. But this doesn't appear to be the case.

It is a bug in the CommerceBuilder search code. https://www.ablecommerce...ts/t685-Category-Sorting

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation. This topic has been brought up in the last 60 days multiple times. I hope it's something that gets addressed in 9.0.5. For us, having multiple categories across products is necessary.

When we first encountered this problem, we reached across multiple categories and try to mimic the sort order, and it worked. However, as we kept introducing more and more products, it was harder and harder to keep the correct sorting order.

This is a nightmare situation for us, customers will order the wrong product because it's not in the right place, and then we have to go to the process of issuing an RMA which not only becomes time-consuming, but expensive as well.

Categories should be sorted by the ID that is being viewed at the moment. Hopefully because this is getting, more and more attention, it will be something that gets rectified shortly.

Would love to hear from support that this issue is finally being addressed.
