Wouldn't it make more sense to have all the view models as partial classes? Is that possible/supported in MVC?

That way devs don't have to modify existing files to add new properties to a page model. They can just create a separate partial class in a different folder. It would isolate customizations more cleanly and reduces workload to merge changes when a new version is released.

Yes, you are right. This way we can allow customizations to be maintained easily.

Yes, this is a feature of c# and is supported in MVC.
