Challenge: In this version, the rules in custom.css get picked up, but they are a lower priority than the theme's default rules. We would not want to add a !important rule to every basic entry and end up duplicating most basic rules for headers, fonts, etc.

Steps taken:

1. I copied the existing theme in admin and set that to be the default.
2. I added rules to custom.css in the assigned theme for something basic for testing, the headings.
3. I used browser web development tools to see the outcome. The rules in custom.css in the correct theme get picked up, but they are a lower priority than the theme's default rules.
4. In estex/Views/Shared/_ThemeStyles.cshtml, I modified the load order so that custom.css in the applied theme is loaded last. It did not work.

If anyone has any ideas or thoughts on what else I could try, I would appreciate the feedback.

Thanks!
Julie

Hello,

I don't understand the issue except for the skin file custom.css is loaded last and I've never had any issues making overrides there. You shouldn't need to make any changes to any view files for this to work. Please post an example or two of the overrides you are trying to make.

We set debug="true" in the web.config so stylesheets wouldn't be bundled and Julie could see the changes better.

Hi Judy,

Good idea! I always have my build running in debug mode unless I'm doing testing to keep Google as happy as possible. We worked hard to implement bundling and delayed downloading of resources.
Thank you for your support!
