Under the listing of features on the AC site, it says AC9 has Automatic generation of the XML sitemap . We have a site that went live beginning of July and the sitemap hasn't changed since then. Is there some kind of configuration setting? I can't find it on the XML sitemap page.
Thanks

Hi Judy,

Automatic generation meant to say that AbleCommerce can generate the XML sitemap without using any external tool. The setting "Change Frequency" refers to how frequently the search engine will access the sitemap. More details about this can be found here

The sitemap contains entries for products and categories URLs, so in general, there is no need to regularly regenerate XML sitemap automatically unless there are new product(s) or categories being added frequently.

Scheduled regeneration can also be achieved with a bit of customization. This is done in the case of Google Feed. Same can be done for XML site map. If you follow the AC Gold approach you can put the scheduling code in Global.asax
A reference can be found in this post

Thanks. The boss thought that meant automatic generation per schedule. We have had to add code on Gold sites to do it on schedule. Otherwise it requires merchant to remember it and do it.
