I tried enabling custom extensions to see if old .aspx urls would work on a product and clicking the button didn't do anything. There is a message about how to change the web.config, but the entry that needs to be changed in the system.webserver node (<modules>doesn't even exist. I made the entry in the web.config file and added aspx to the extensions, and I am still getting an error too many redirects in the browser.

That url isn't valid, but how did you get .aspx to work on that site? Thanks

Hi Judy,
That's the built-in migration from GOLD to V9, it automatically provides 301's for the legacy gold URLs. |

I upgraded a local site from Gold 9168 to AC9 RC3 and it didn't create any redirects for the old Gold urls with .aspx. Has this been added after RC3?

I'm sorry, I was wrong. I was looking for a redirect in a table. I was able to go to Universal-Remote-P42.aspx and it redirected me to Sample-Category/Accessories/Universal-Remote with a 301 redirect. Edited by user Monday, July 1, 2019 6:04:47 AM(UTC)

Hi Judy,
I'm glad it's sorted out. The gold URLs are being watched via code and will provide 301's to the new URL structure. |

The product URLs are not being generated during the upgrade, let me check and I reply back. |

Hi, Please provide more details about your issue. I have confirmed that for all products where we do not have a "Custom Url" defined in AC Gold, the product URL is generated during upgrade process. So, if you have upgraded from AC Gold to AC9, the old URL /Personalized-Gift-Certificate-P1.aspx should be auto converted to /Sample-Category/Gift-Ideas/Personalized-Gift-Certificate However if you had some "Custom Url" defined for some products already in AC Gold then please let me know, and I will try to suggest some workaround. Thanks, Edited by user Wednesday, January 22, 2020 9:23:47 AM(UTC)

I'm working with Brant, so I wanted to clarify what is going on. We are currently running a store from the ancient ablecommerce 7.0 so we have long-established links over 10 years old that we need to redirect to the new store. Obviously these pages are not actively nor will be active on the new store but we are trying to set up the redirects based on the original URLs. We can forward a direct link such as cart/IDAutomation-Code-128-Font-Advantage-Package-P43C8.aspx to barcode-fonts/code-128/ but then this direct link didn't work without adding an extra redirect cart/IDAutomation-Code-128-Font-Advantage-Package-P43.aspx it's set up to redirect to the link above but ends up going to https://www.idautomation.com/Product/Index/43 which I then redirect to barcode-fonts/code-128/ We've changed the names of products over the years so without the direct names we can't catch every variation. Is there a way to strip the names down to just the P##.aspx or P##C##.aspx to redirect?

I got the above mentioned issue. However please explain the rest of the post with some real examples of URLs. So, that I will be able to understand and help you out of the situation. |

Is there a way to strip the names down to just the P##.aspx or P##C##.aspx to redirect? The SEO fixed redirects need static URL paths for redirection. However the Dynamic redirects uses the RegEx patterns, and may work for you in this situation. But you will not be able to specify individual Target URLs for each Source URL. |
